FH Münster–University of Applied Sciences–

The FH Münster stands above all for one thing: lived quality culture! This determines our everyday university life – in all processes of education, research and transfer as well as management and service facilities.

During the years, the FH Münster has developed itself into a practical, international and interdisciplinary university with around 15,000 students. Teachers and students alike contribute to a successful transfer of scientific knowledge into practice. It pays off: Today, our university is one of the largest and most successful universities of applied sciences in Germany.

The FH Münster has bundled selected focuses of its research in institutes. In the field of surface technology these are, for example, the Institute for Construction and Functional Materials (IKFM) and the Institute for Optical Technologies (IOT). The IKFM bundles material science know-how from four different departments of the FH and coordinates the processing of research projects and inquiries from the industry. The IOT is researching new methods for the generation, application and manipulation of light.
